It’s All Part of the Plan…

Romans 11:25-32

25For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery–so that you will not be wise in your own estimation–that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;

26and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,

“THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION,

HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.”

27″THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM,

WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.”

28From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers;

29for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

30For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience,

31so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy.

32For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.

Paul is concluding his explanation of Israel’s rejection and the purpose God has for “us” and “them”. His conclusion points out that Israel, despite their rejection and disobedience, will be saved and reclaimed as God’s nation.

I think this is an interesting thought about “the end of times”. While I try not to focus too much on the Revelation of John, I can’t help but wonder what it will be like. With the current arguments over rapture, the 1,000 day reign, etc. etc. I think we start to forget the awesomeness behind it all and get too caught up in who is right and who is wrong. Will it matter? I mean, really. When Christ returns, all hell breaks loose (quite literally), and we finally see what it all means, are we gonna look at each other and stick our tongues out saying who was right and wrong? There won’t be any time or care for that.

The thing we need to focus on is God’s love. Look at how much God loves His nation, Israel. It’s an example of how endless it is. I’ve known and still know Christians who have “fallen away” and are at a point where they feel it is pointless to turn back to God because of how far away their current paths have taken them. Is that you today? Are you the prodigal son (daughter)? There is nothing that you can do to make God not love you. He always has and always will. THAT’S how awesome he is.

According to today’s passage, there’s a reason for it. He ALLOWED you to “fall away”. It wasn’t on your own accord. It wasn’t because God couldn’t force you to stay. It is through these times that we grow stronger. I realize this through the years I spent neglecting the church and expecting God to love me without loving Him back. Certainly, He loved me throughout but I certainly didn’t love Him the way I should have. Did it make me weaker? No, it made me stronger! It was all for His purpose that I regressed in my faith, for it grew back tenfold stronger.

Where are you with your walk with God? I say “with” because He is with you, regardless if you recognize it or acknowledge Him. He is there just waiting for you to say hi.
