Psalm 105

In this psalm, the psalmist looks back at the wondrous provision and protection of God and the fulfillment of His promises over the centuries from that point in time.  How much more do we have to reflect upon since then!  This was even written so far before the coming of the Messiah, the Lord’s Anointed One, to fulfill the hundreds of prophecies that were told.  These prophecies were not just statements or hopes and wishes but promises.

On this Christmas Day, think back to how the coming of Jesus did exactly what we are reading in Psalm 105.  As verse 5 says:

Remember His wonders which He has done, His marvels and the judgments uttered by His mouth,

What has He given you as an inheritance?  How has He provided for you? How has He protected you?  What promises has He made to you that He has already fulfilled?  What promises are yet to be fulfilled that you wait for with hope and anticipation?  How has God challenged and tested you to make you stronger?  Has He raised you up, has He knocked you down?  How has He led the way for you?  What joy has He placed into your life?

May we remember this Christmas season what all the Lord has done for us and rejoice with shouts of joy!
